‘Do it, do it and do it’

A primarily electronic track performed using Ableton Push, inspired by downtempo and glitch-hop producers.

Music composed, performed, recorded, mixed and produced by Jordan Nyari. Samples taken from ‘Balinese Monkey Chant’ of the film ‘Baraka’, and the TED talk ‘Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are’, presented by Amy Cuddy.

‘A River and a Mountain’

A jaunty folk song about feeling comfortably insignificant, featuring a full-band ensemble and a feel-good attitude. I’m quite proud of this one!

Terminator 2: Sound Design

A brief clip of the terminator robots being manufactured in the movie ‘Terminator 2’. I was really excited by this project, as recording all the metallic, electrical and mechanical sounds was great fun, and the futuristic context allowed lots of room for sound manipulation.

‘Gunman Clive’ Sound Design and Soundtrack

A beautiful western-style platform shooter game-app. I particularly enjoyed composing the music for this, as a cowboy-protagonist is often portrayed as a badass with good intentions, which allowed me to explore a wider field of harmony and motifs, as well as some uncommon instrumentation (tremolo guitar, picked double bass, and so on).

‘One and Only’ – Sydney James

A love song featuring local hip-hop newcomer Sydney James. This was a lot of fun, particularly in fusing an amorous beat with consonant harmony and romantic instrumentation, with a more aggressive vocal style.

Music and Sound Design for ‘Cut the Rope 2’

A great project; a lot of different opportunities for some unique and varied sound design, as well as consonant ‘cutesy’ music. A fantastic puzzle game, too!

Soundtrack for ‘Run’

A soundtrack for the android game app ‘Run’. My focus for this project was to capture the gameplay’s sense of urgency, in a kind-of pulsing, ‘time-running-out’ context. To match the feel of the player’s minimalist surroundings, I combined the fast rhythms with sci-fi and 8-bit elements, and varied the texture to create different intensities of excitement.
